## Social Media Downloaders

Utified provides 50+ social-media downloader and metadata-viewer tools. These tools follow a strict honesty policy: they use only public/official APIs (oEmbed) and provide step-by-step save instructions using each platform's first-party methods. They do not extract DRM-protected video files or violate platform Terms of Service. Tier-A tools (thumbnails, profile pictures, GIFs, screenshots) are fully client-side functional; Tier-B tools (YouTube/Instagram/TikTok video downloaders) display metadata + official save guides because direct video extraction would require violating ToS.

## Drops

Utified Drops is a file collection feature that lets users create a shareable upload link. Anyone with the link can upload files directly to the owner's Drop — no account required. Drops are managed from the account dashboard.

- Create a Drop with a name, emoji, description, accent colour, and allowed file types.
- Each Drop has a unique public URL at `/d/[slug]` where visitors can upload files.
- File submissions are stored on R2 (Cloudflare) and viewable in the Drop dashboard.
- Pro plan features: auto-processing (convert/compress incoming files), password protection, webhook notifications, analytics, bulk ZIP download.
- Max plan features: custom logo upload, white-label (hide "Powered by Utified" branding).
- Drops API available at `/api/drops` (account routes) and via the public v1 REST API (`drops:read` / `drops:write` scopes).
- Limits by plan: Free/Starter — 5 drops, Pro — 25 drops, Max — 100 drops.

Utified Workflow lets users chain multiple tools into a single automated pipeline - convert, resize, filter, hash, and transform files without switching between tools.

## Processing Model

- **Client-side tools** (text, CSS, color, developer utilities, hash, math): run entirely in the browser - no data leaves the device.
- **Server-side tools** (video, audio, image, document conversion): processed on isolated Fastify servers using FFmpeg and LibreOffice; files are deleted automatically after your plan's retention period (2 hours for free, up to 90 days for Max plan).

- **Starter** ($1.99/mo): 300 credits, files up to 1 GB, 7-day retention.
- **Pro** ($9.99/mo): 3,000 credits, files up to 5 GB, 30-day retention, priority queue.
- **Max** ($24.99/mo): 10,000 credits, files up to 20 GB, 90-day retention, team workspace.
