NPS Calculator – National Pension System
The NPS Calculator projects the corpus you can build through monthly contributions to the National Pension System and the pension this corpus can buy at retirement.
How NPS withdrawal works
- At least 40% of the accumulated corpus must be used to buy an annuity from an empanelled insurer — this produces the monthly pension.
- Up to 60% can be withdrawn as a lump sum at retirement. Lump sum is fully tax-free; pension income is taxable as ordinary income.
Tax benefits while contributing
NPS contributions are eligible for tax deductions under Section 80CCD(1) (within ₹1.5L 80C limit), Section 80CCD(1B) — extra ₹50,000 over and above 80C, and 80CCD(2) for employer contributions (up to 10% of salary, no upper cap).
