What is Exif Data?
Exchangeable Image File Format (Exif) is a standard that specifies the formats for images, sound, and ancillary tags used by digital cameras. It contains information such as:
- Camera Settings: Shutter speed, aperture, ISO, focal length, and flash mode.
- Device Info: Camera manufacturer and model number.
- Date & Time: The exact moment the photo was taken.
- Geolocation: GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude) if enabled on the device.
Why check Exif data?
Photographers use it to analyze their shots and learn from settings. However, it's also important for privacy. Photos shared online might reveal your exact location through GPS tags. Use this tool to check what information you are sharing before posting.
Note: All processing is done locally in your browser. Your images are never uploaded to any server.
