AI Image Upscaler — How It Works

This tool enlarges images using Lanczos3 resampling — the highest-quality interpolation kernel available, used by professional image editors like Photoshop and GIMP. While not a neural network, Lanczos3 produces excellent results for most photo and graphic upscaling use cases. Processing happens server-side using libvips (via sharp), which streams pixel data through a fixed-size buffer — meaning even very large images don't cause memory issues. Use cases: enlarging old family photos, upscaling product photography for print, preparing low-resolution images for retina displays.
